Thank you for your interest in becoming a school volunteer. Your time is valuable and is such a tremendous gift to our students. We are grateful for your willingness to lend us your talent and energy. School volunteering is also richly rewarding.

Pullman Schools welcome community members to serve in a variety of volunteer roles. Some examples are: serving as general classroom assistants, chaperoning field trips, and tutoring or mentoring students. Take-home tasks or helping with after-school events and clubs are opportunities available to community members who are unable to volunteer during the school day.

All volunteers are required to complete the online volunteer application prior to beginning service. The application permits a criminal history review through the Washington State Patrol. Once the application is approved and proper documentation (listed below) has been submitted, the volunteer will receive written communication via email that they are eligible to be placed in service with the schools.

Starting fall 2022, the district is planning to allow volunteers back in our school buildings. All employees, volunteers, and indoor contractors in educational settings must be fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination will be submitted with the background check application process.

  • Volunteers must have a background check
  • Volunteers must provide proof of COVID vaccination.
If the documents listed above have not been submitted, you will not receive clearance to volunteer. We recommend turning these documents in as soon as possible. Documents that are turned in the day before the event are not guaranteed to be cleared, resulting in you not being able to volunteer for the school event.

Please contact Berenisse Bencomo at (509) 332-3581 or [email protected] with any questions. Thank you for your interest in Pullman Schools!
