CURRICULUM ADVISORY COUNCIL (CAC)

The Curriculum Advisory Council serves as the Instructional Materials Committee (IMC) for the Pullman School District (Policy 2020).

Purpose: Establishes and monitors such procedures as may be necessary for the selection and adoption of instructional materials owned and used by the district. Act upon requests for text approval and removal and evaluate and act upon citizens' requests for reconsideration of instructional materials. Ensure that materials are selected in conformance to stated criteria.

HIGHLY CAPABLE (HI CAP) ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Purpose: Develop, monitor, implement, and evaluate the district’s Highly Capable Program plan. Ensure compliance with state laws and administrative codes governing the Highly Capable Program, including equitable identification of low-income students. Make recommendations, as needed, to the district Policy Committee and School Board regarding changes to the district policy and procedure.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT (ELD) PROGRAM ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Purpose: Develop, monitor, implement, and evaluate the district’s Title III and State Transitional Bilingual Instructional Program plans.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS ADOPTION COMMITTEE (IMAC)

In order to best support our teachers and students during the 2020-2021 school year, the proposed supplemental resource options are designed to support English Language Arts (ELA) instruction in both distance and blended learning models. The need for these supplemental materials to aid our teachers is based on the current lack of standards-aligned ELA instructional materials, the current timeline of the K-5 ELA instructional materials adoption, and the unique situation of planned distance or blended learning during a global pandemic. These supplemental materials will support all teachers and students with shifting pedagogy as the committee moves forward in the adoption process.

If you are interested in joining any of the district committees as a parent representative, please contact the Instructional Programs office by phone at (509) 332-3144 or by email at [email protected].
