School Online Public Access Catalogs

Browse for books – accessible from within all district buildings

How to Use the Library Catalog (OPAC)
  1. In the search box, you may search for the author's last name, the title, or the subject - the fewer words used, the better
  2. Items are arranged alphabetically. Scroll down to find an item.
  3. The title you are interested in will show the call number and the status of the item. Status will be: IN, OUT, or LOST.
  4. If the item is IN, write down the call number. Ask for help if you are unsure where the item is.
  5. If the item is not IN, you may ask the librarian to reserve the book for you.
  6. If you want more information on the item, click on the title - a summary of the item and due date will appear.
  7. Please clear your search by clicking on Home.

Library Program Goals & Expectations

  • For students to develop and practice skills and behaviors necessary to become proficient lifetime users and producers of information and ideas beyond the school library setting;

    To promote an enthusiasm in students for reading books at their skill level in different genres by a variety of authors, and to assist, guide, motivate and support them as they develop their own lifelong interest in literature;

    To be fiscally responsible when providing students and staff access to a variety of print and nonprint resources that are inviting, effective, efficient, and relevant to support the teaching and learning programs available within the entire school community;

    To provide an introduction and overview to the area of digital citizenship.

  • Be Respectful of Others and the Materials Provided

    Be Responsible When Using the Materials Provided

    Be Safe While Using the Facility and Materials Provided

  • Grades K-1 may check out one (1) book for one (1) week from the 'Everybody' section. However, flexibility based on student’s reading ability needs to go through their classroom teacher.

    Grades 2-5 may check out two (2) books for one (1) week from all sections of the school library.

    Grades 6-12  may have a total of five (5) materials checked out at a time.

  • Please have a special place set aside in your home for student(s) to safely store and read their school library books. This should be in a safe environment away from food, liquids, pets, and other children.

    Please have student carry their school library books to and from school in a dry backpack in a compartment that will remain safe from food and liquids.

  • Students in grades K-5 will need to return books each week on or before the day of their scheduled library lesson. Each classroom has a special place for the returned school library books to be stored until they are brought to the library on or before the day they are due.

    Students in grades 6-12 will need to return their books to the library after three (3) weeks or come into the library to renew their materials.
  • There is no limit to renewing a book, unless other students have requested it.  However, it does need to be brought to school to be renewed in order for the book not to be considered “overdue”.

  • Students may continue to checkout one book, as long as one book is returned.
    (K-5) If two books are overdue, students will need to bring one of those overdue books back in order to checkout one new book or they will need to bring back both of those overdue books to checkout two new books.
  • Students in Grades K-5:
    • Students will be reminded of overdue books each week during their library visit.
    • Overdue notices will be emailed home three (3) weeks prior to parent/teacher conferences
    • Teachers will also distribute paper copies of overdue notices during parent/teacher conferences
    • Overdue notices will be emailed in December and May
    • Final emails with the cost of the materials will go home after fines have been entered
    Students in Grades 6-12:
    • Students will receive email notices of overdue items once every six (6) weeks.
    • The library will provide hardcopies of overdue notices to English teachers at the end of January and the end of May prior to fines being entered.
  • Fines for books that remain out will be entered into InTouch in February (for books that were checked out prior to December 1) and again the last week of school for all books that remain checked out.
    In the event that a family is certain a book is lost, the book may be replaced prior to fines being entered to clear the student account. See Replacement Book Information below.
  • If a book is damaged, the library staff will make every effort to fix the damage if possible.  However, if the item is not able to be returned to the library collection for any reason, a fine will be assessed for the damaged book and a letter/email will be sent home to the parent/guardian requesting the fine be paid or the item be replaced.

    See replacement book information below if that is the desired method of paying for a damaged book.  Once the damaged item is paid for or replaced, the damaged book will be offered to the student if requested.

  • A book that is purchased to replace a lost or damaged book should be a new or gently used copy of the same title in the same format as the book that was lost. However, if a lost book that was replaced is later found, the book that was purchased as the replacement will be returned to the student if requested.
