How to Request a Release from your Resident School District (Pullman) to Enroll into a Non-Resident School
-
Submit a Form: Parents or guardians can request a release by completing the district's form (3141F Annual Request for Release and Application for Nonresident Admission), available below, or through the OSPI Choice Transfer Portal here.
-
Decision Process: The superintendent will review the request and sign to release your student from our district. The nonresident district will notify you of your acceptance or denial via an automated email from the OSPI Choice Transfer Portal.
- If Approved: The new district will request records and a transfer will be arranged. Your student will not be withdrawn until student records have been requested by the receiving school.
- If Denied: You’ll be informed of your right to request a hearing before the School Board. The Board’s final decision will be communicated in writing, and if the request is still denied, you can appeal to the Office of Administrative Hearings.
Please Note: Until the transfer application has been accepted by the non-resident district and they have requested records, your student will still be required to attend school. If the student is currently enrolled in Pullman, they will remain enrolled until records have been requested by the non-resident school.
