  • With the passage of House Bill 1342 (2021), the State legislature eliminated the lunch co-pay for grades Pre-K and 4–12 ( K-3 was previously covered). This means all students eligible for reduced-price meals in public schools operating USDA school meal programs can receive breakfast and lunch at no cost.
  • Students receiving benefits from state programs such as Basic Food or Medicaid automatically qualify for free/reduced priced meals.
    • If you received an email stating your child or children automatically qualify for free/reduced price meals, you do not need to complete a CNEEB application.
  • Starting school year 2024-2025, OSPI Child Nutrition program has introduced a new application called the Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit (CNEEB) Application. The CNEEB Application merges the free and reduced-price meal application and family income survey.
    • This means one application per household for all students in the family no matter what school the students attend.
  • Free and reduced price meals are provided for children whose family size and monthly gross income meet federal guidelines.
  • However, all students at Jefferson and Kamiak Elementary schools qualify for one breakfast and one lunch free of charge on all school days through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program.
  • Applications are available at any Pullman Public School or the administrative office. Parents may enroll their children at any time during the school year. If the student qualifies for reduced or free lunches, he/she automatically qualifies in the same category for breakfasts. The names of students participating in the free/reduced program are kept confidential. Applications should be returned directly to the school office.
  • Qualifying for CNEEB my qualify you for reduced or waived fees for other programs and activities. Please complete the Consent to Share form below or show a copy of the Notification of Benefits email you received.
