Kindergarten FAQ

What are the kindergarten age requirements?
Students must be 5 years of age on August 31, 2020 in order to enroll in kindergarten in the Pullman Public Schools.

When will I find out my child’s school placement?
Students that live within Pullman Public Schools boundaries can determine school placement on the “Find my School” application. Students requesting an in-district transfer or an out-of-district (Choice) transfer will be notified of approval status and school placement prior to the start of the 2020-2021 school year.

When will I receive the 2020-2021 calendar and open house information?
Parents will get open house information and the 2020-2021 school calendar as part of a packet of welcome materials emailed from the student’s school prior to the first day of school.

If my child needs English Language Development (ELD) services, which school will they attend?
ELD services are offered at all four elementary schools, regular placement guidelines are followed.

Will all of my children be able to attend the same school?
Yes, every effort will be made to place students from the same family in grades K-5 in the same school. Out of district requests and late enrollment sometimes necessitates placing siblings at two different schools, but that is not common.

What if my child is placed at our neighborhood school and we move to a different neighborhood later?
Parents wishing to have their child attend a school other than the one they are assigned to will need to complete an in-district transfer form. In-district transfer information and forms can be found here

What if I would like my child to attend a school that is not my neighborhood school?
Parents wishing to have their child attend a school other than the one they are assigned to based on attendance areas will need to complete an in-district transfer form. In-district transfer information and forms are available here.

If I do not live in Pullman School District boundaries, can my child attend school in Pullman?
Out-of-District (choice) information and request forms are available here.

How can I learn more about student transportation?
