Pullman School District’s Mathematics teaching and learning is guided by our core beliefs:
- All students can learn and make sense of mathematics at high levels; and it is our responsibility to purposefully cultivate student self-efficacy in mathematics.
- Mathematics teachers should inspire and engage all students in challenging, creative, collaborative, and flexible thinking around standards-based concepts and procedures.
- Mathematics lessons should foster curiosity and hands-on exploration of authentic, rigorous problems.
- Productive, research-based routines should be implemented in our mathematics classrooms to support all students’ work connecting multiple representations and models while developing efficient strategies for solving rich tasks.
